The Birkenhead Hotel, corner of Lyons Road and Byrne Avenue, Five Dock in October 1930. Sometime in the last ten years or so, after the closure of the tavern, the pub got its original name back.
In the early 1980's the pub's name was changed to the Lion's Head Hotel after the Birkenhead Tavern opened at the Birkenhead Point shopping centre.
The original Birkenhead Hotel stood on Birkenhead Bridge Road (now Victoria Road), Drummoyne, near the Iron Cove Bridge.
