Maipú is a town just outside Mendoza in western Argentina, near the Andes Mountains. It’s known for wine production, in particular the Malbec grape variety. Wineries (bodegas) and olive farms dot the area. The town’s National Museum of Wine and Harvest is in an opulent art nouveau villa set in landscaped grounds. Outside of town, the Wine Museum at Bodega La Rural displays tools, carriages and other artifacts.
