New owners plan to rehabilitate Classen Inn
Description :Spinning glass globes once again will appear atop the Classen Inn sign almost 40 years after they were taken down as the area just west of Midtown fell into a decades-long decline that has been reversed in the new century. The motel, at 820 N Classen Blvd., sold Monday to developers Steve Mason and Aimee Ahpeatone, whose other projects include restaurants and shops in the Plaza District and the renovation of the Yale Theater in Capitol Hill. “It's iconic and we love the idea of a restored motor inn,” Ahpeatone said. “It's in the neighborhood where we live and play and we love to restore old buildings.
