The North Cliff Hotel, standing in its own grounds, has some of the finest views of the North Devon coastline. The famous Cliff Railway linking Lynton and Lynmouth passes within a few feet of the hotel, it is the world’s highest and steepest completely water powered railway which can be easily accessed via the hotel’s stepped garden. Here you can spot the famous resident goats along the cliff ledges and in the summer months watch a game of local cricket at our unique ground within the Valley. It is in a peaceful position some 500 feet above sea level on the well known North Walk, which also forms part of The South West Coast Path, overlooking Lynmouth Bay with its stunning headland, the beautiful Watersmeet Valley, and is just a 200 metre walk to Lynton. Local activities include horse riding, tennis, mini golf, clay pigeon shooting or enjoy a film in the town cinema. Just 10 minutes drive away is Woody Bay Railway station, where you can jump on a train for an invigorating ride, the extension plan is to bring the track right to Lynton.
